Saturday, the 13th of October

On Saturday the French students and their teachers left Tartu and took a bus to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. I met them just after noon in Tallinn city centre.  At first I had thought about showing them the not-so-nice side of Tallinn, but in the end I decided it would be better to just walk around in the Old Town. So that we did. We started from Town Hall Square and took a little circle in the Old Town, went to the Upper Town and spent some time there. We finished our trip with visiting the Freedom Square and National Opera Theatre Estonia. The French took a lot of pictures and some of the teachers were very positively surprised about how beautiful Tallinn was. After I had left the French students went to explore the city by themselves and bought some souvenirs. I hope they have nice memories about Tallinn and they want to come back to Estonia just as much we want to visit France again. (Text done by Merili)

Clement's story
After few hours of walking in the old town, the cold had seized us. At this time, I really regret having forgotten my gloves in my bag at our hotel. Though, the visit was interesting, our thoughts was only facing something as wood fire under a blanket with a good big cup of hot chocolate… That’s why, when the free time was coming, everybody ran buy a cup of chocolate in the first came shop. Me and my friends, we decided with an incredible courage, bravery and all you want to cross again the old Tallinn, to join a café near the Kalev shop. Really just amazing! A hot chocolate with cinnamon, cacao and cream… Just a dream at this moment! Nothing like a pastry to accompany this, so take turns, we buy a little cake… With a friend we travelled the names and asked the composition to the seller. And she answered “this one is a cheese pastry, this other one is a cake with fish eggs” After, asking her to repeat, and being sure that we really understood, we looked ourselves. And finally we decided to buy a cake that looks like a really good pastry in France… It was a mistake, and really not good!! This memory is in my head really funny time, and me and my friends we laugh a lot about it!
